いっきゅうさんとやんちゃひめ

A roughly 15-minute new theatrical short produced by Toei Animation and screened at the spring 1978 Toei Manga Festival. The fourth film in the popular TV anime Ikkyu-san, it is the series' first wholly original new story, written by Masaki Tsuji with music by Seiichiro Uno. Spotlighting the semi-regular character Princess Tsuyu (Yancha-hime), it warmly depicts the humorous, child-friendly uproar set off by the witty boy monk Ikkyu-san and the willful but endearing Yancha-hime. Making use of the TV series' world and beloved characters, it is a fine short crafted for the festive showcase of the Manga Festival.
