A TV anime co-produced by Shin-Ei Animation and Nippon Animation, based on the manga of the same name by Tetsuya Chiba serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Wild boy Teppei Uesugi, who grew up treasure hunting in the mountains with his father, is taken in by the Uesugi family and creates uproar at Orin Academy and Toudaiji School while mastering kendo, eventually winning team and individual championships at the Kanto tournament.
