An SF anime produced by Toei Doga (Toei Animation) with production support from Madhouse, based on an original concept by Osamu Tezuka and Tezuka Productions. In the year 2015, the boy-type cyborg Jetter Mars, originally designed as a combat robot, grows emotionally under the kind Dr. Kawashita and battles for peace while developing feelings for fellow cyborg Melchi. Often regarded as a self-remake of Tezuka's Astro Boy, the series ran for 27 episodes.
