Thirteen-year-old Yumi Nishiyama leads the youth science adventure team "Gowappa 5," whose members include Daigoro Ushiyama, Kunio, Takako, and Jun Okamoto. They defend Earth against the invading Underground Empire led by Doronja, piloting the giant robot Godam built by Yumi's father. Notable as Tatsunoko's first robot anime and the pioneering robot series with a female lead. 36 episodes.
