A robot anime produced by Eiken, based on the original work by Hako Hanato with manga adaptation by Ikuo Shiba. Young Takuro Takara discovers he is a survivor of the Damos race after the Dadanos Empire destroys his home planet Polon. He becomes pilot of the giant transforming combining robot Dai Apolon, formed by three enlarged mecha—Header, Legger, and Trunker. A pioneering combining super robot work, leading to the direct sequel "UFO Senshi Dai Apolon II." 26 episodes.
