A Japanese-Austrian co-production TV anime by Nippon Animation, Zuiyo Eizo, and Apollo Film, based on Carlo Collodi's "The Adventures of Pinocchio" (1883). The wooden puppet Piccolino, carved by poor woodworker Geppetto, gains life and dreams of becoming a real boy. Through misadventures on Donkey Island, inside a whale, and beyond, his nose grows when he lies. Eventually he transforms into a kind-hearted real boy. 52 episodes.
