A TV anime produced by Group TAC and Dax International for MBS (TBS network), the initial version of the long-running folktale anime presenting Japanese folktales in self-contained episodes. The unique format features Etsuko Ichihara and Fujio Tokita voicing all characters, with different animators bringing their personal styles to each episode. Featuring tales like "Momotaro" and "Kasa Jizo," it became a beloved family evening program that evolved into the long-running 1976 version.
