A TV anime produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha and TCJ Animation Center, based on Atsuo Saito's novel "Bokensha-tachi: Gamba to 15-hiki no Nakama" (1972). City sewer rat Gamba, hearing from injured island mouse Chuta about his comrades being attacked by the white weasel Noroi, journeys to Dream Island aboard the Yumemidori. With Chuta, Bobo, Yoisho, Shioji, and 15 others, Gamba uses wit and courage in a life-or-death battle against Noroi's weasel army. Osamu Dezaki's tense direction emphasizing the terror of Noroi made it a masterpiece transcending children's anime. 26 episodes.
