A theatrical anime musical produced by Group TAC and Nippon Herald Films, based on the English folktale "Jack and the Beanstalk." Lazy boy Jack trades his mother's cow for magic beans, which grow overnight into a beanstalk reaching the clouds. Climbing to the castle of giant Madsight, Jack meets the cursed Princess Margaretta and battles the giant and witch Nora with wit and courage. Directed by Greg Irvin and notable as Japan's first full-animation international musical film, distributed worldwide under the Spielberg campaign.
