Kouya no Shounen Isamu

A Western anime produced by Tokyo Movie, based on the manga by Soji Yamakawa (story) and Noboru Kawasaki (art). In the American Old West, mixed-race boy Isamu, son of a Japanese mother and white father, vows revenge against the Wild Seven who killed his mother. Raised partly by Apache warriors, he masters quick-draw gunfighting while questioning his identity in a violent, prejudiced world. Direction by Osamu Dezaki (as Bonten Yumeno), Rintaro, and Yoshiyuki Tomino made this an unusual Western anime. 52 episodes.
