A robot anime produced by Knack. Kantaro, son of alien Maya from the Gangar race and Earth scientist Dr. Hoshikawa, mentally links with the giant robot Astroganger, built from the cosmic alloy Ganganium left by his mother, to battle the invading Blaster aliens. Notable as the first TV anime to depict a "mind-linked" giant robot rather than the standard piloted model, predating Mazinger Z and continuing into Gundam's lineage. 26 episodes.
