An adventure anime produced by Tokyo Movie, based on Shotaro Ishinomori's manga in Bouken-Oh. In prehistoric times, boy Ryu, ostracized by his tribe for his pale skin, wanders the wilderness searching for his mother. Through encounters with ferocious dinosaurs, tribal conflicts, and supernatural beings, he traces his origins. Ishinomori's thematic concerns with life-death and discrimination against the different are presented through stark prehistoric allegory of modern society. 22 episodes.
