A baseball spo-kon anime produced by Tokyo Movie, the first anime adaptation of Shinji Mizushima's baseball manga, written by Mamoru Sasaki in Weekly Shonen Sunday. Osaka high schooler Koshien Fujimura—named after the stadium—battles for the Koshien tournament with his teammates. Although the manga had just begun serialization, Sasaki's scripts and Mizushima's baseball depictions earned high praise, leading to a near-decade-long run. The origin of Mizushima's long baseball franchise leading to "Dokaben," "Yakyu-kyo no Uta," and "Abu-san." 26 episodes.
