Zen-chan Tsu-chan
Aired: 1969 - 1970
A TV anime produced by Jiho Eigasha (Jiho Film Co.). Broadcast on the Nippon TV network from October 20, 1969 to January 17, 1970 in a five-minute morning slot Monday through Saturday (08:20-08:25), this was a children's traffic-safety education program combining animation and live-action segments. Featuring Masako Nozawa among the cast, it addressed everyday hazards for young children - traffic lights, crosswalks, and the dangers of darting into the road - in a single-topic skit format. No discrete opening or ending songs are clearly documented; each episode is built around jingles and educational narration. A 16mm educational film version, Zen-chan, Tsu-chan, was later produced in 1971. (C)Jiho Eigasha
