001/7 Oyayubi Tom

A TV anime produced by Television Animation (Television Doga Inc.). Based on an original concept by Television Doga (planning by Isamu Watanabe). Broadcast in 64 episodes on the Fuji TV network from October 2, 1967 to December 30, 1968. 'Oyayubi Tom' (voiced by Fuyumi Shiraishi), a mere 10cm-tall agent belonging to the special-mission division 001/7 of the World Spy Organization, conducts intelligence battles against massive criminal organizations worldwide together with his robot partner Jumbo. Though potentially confused with translations of George Selden's works, this is an original creation. Adopting a serious spy line set against real-world locations and organizations, it is known as a representative example of adapting the 007 James Bond boom for children. Television Doga conducted its operations around this work and produced many talents who later joined Studio Live and the Tokyo Movie Shinsha lineage. (C)Television Doga
