Rainbow Sentai Robin

A TV anime produced by Toei Doga. The original concept was created by Studio Zero, where Osamu Tezuka, Fujiko Fujio, Shotaro Ishinomori, Jiro Tsunoda, Fujio Akatsuka, Shinichi Suzuki, Yusaku Sakamoto, and Takemaru Nagata gathered, with planning by Kei Iijima and others. Broadcast in 48 episodes on the NET (now TV Asahi) network from April 23, 1966 to March 24, 1967. Robin (voiced by Kyoko Satomi), the young prince of the Palta aliens facing the fate of their planet's explosive destruction, evacuates to Earth with six support robots (Pegasus, Bell, Bon, Lili, Wolf, and Coro) and his companion Princess Lili (voiced by Noriko Shindo). Together they thwart the Palta invasion of Earth and continue to defend galactic peace across various planets in this SF space opera. As a culmination of Studio Zero's collective intelligence, the work pre-figured the multi-character sentai format of later works such as Science Ninja Team Gatchaman and Combattler V, and is remembered as one of the origins of the sentai genre.
