A TV anime produced by Tokyo Movie. Based on the original work by the Uchu Patrol Planning Group. Broadcast in 44 episodes on the Fuji TV network from September 4, 1965 to April 29, 1966. In the 23rd century, Earth Federation Space Patrol corps members Jun (voiced by Yoshiko Ota) and her younger brother Hoppa (voiced by Kazue Tagami) tour the solar system aboard the patrol ship and battle space pirates and mysterious alien lifeforms in this near-future SF action work. As one of Tokyo Movie's early founding-era works, it is positioned as a prequel in the company's long lineage leading to Lupin III, Ashita no Joe, and Adventures of Gamba. The work was later re-edited as 'Uchu Kaiju Ragon,' and the structure of space patrol vs. space monster influenced later tokusatsu-style SF works. (C)Tokyo Movie
