Ippon Again! is a TV anime based on the manga by Yuu Muraoka, originally serialized in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion before moving to Manga Cross where it concluded. Animation production is handled by BAKKEN RECORD. Set in Saitama Prefecture, this girls' judo story follows Michi Sonoda, a third-year middle schooler who kept doing judo solely for the thrill of winning by ippon. After a devastating loss in her final tournament, she plans to quit judo, but a reunion with her former opponent Towa Hiura reignites her passion. At Aoba Nishi High School, Michi and her friends establish a judo club together, aiming for the national tournament as a team.
