A TV anime produced by Liden Films, based on the manga by TNSK, serialized in Kodansha's good! Afternoon, totaling 12 volumes. Set in Taisho-era Osaka, the story follows Mameda, a little tanuki girl who dreams of deceiving humans and ventures to the big city of Osaka, only to have her true identity exposed by Daikokutei Bunko, a "monster" who disguises herself as a rakugo performer. Witnessing Bunko's rakugo, Mameda begs to become her apprentice, wanting to captivate people through art rather than trickery, and begins walking the path of rakugo in their strict yet warm master-student relationship. 13 episodes. Main cast includes M.A.O as Mameda, Hibiku Yamamura as Bunko, Akira Ishida as Ebisuya Karoku, and Junichi Suwabe as Daikokutei Buncho.
