Lonely Castle in the Mirror

A theatrical anime produced by A-1 Pictures, based on the novel by Mizuki Tsujimura published by Poplar Publishing, winner of the 2018 Japan Booksellers' Award (9 awards total). Domestic box office of approximately 1 billion yen. Middle schooler Kokoro, who has withdrawn from school, is pulled through her bedroom mirror into a fairy-tale castle where six other unknown middle schoolers await. A girl in a wolf mask called "Wolf Queen" appears and tells them whoever finds a key hidden in the castle can have any wish granted. The seven begin visiting the castle, each carrying their own burdens. Directed by Keiichi Hara. Theme song: Yuuri "Merry-Go-Round."
