The series has recorded 3 million copies (as of July 2022). Lloyd, a boy raised in "Kunlun Village" near the last dungeon, heads to the royal capital Azami aspiring to be a soldier. Considered the "weakest" in his village, Lloyd is actually overwhelmingly powerful since Kunlun Village is an inhuman frontier. In the capital, he lodges with the witch Marie while aiming for military academy enrollment, meeting ex-princess Selen whose hand was cursed into a belt, and former mercenary Riho.
