The second cour of the TV anime produced by Production I.G, based on the manga with story by Ryosuke Takeuchi and art by Hikaru Miyoshi, serialized in Shueisha's Jump Square (original concept: Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series, 2016-2023). The series has sold over 6 million copies (as of August 2022). Won 2nd place in the general category of the 2018 National Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics. Set in late 19th-century Britain, the story depicts an intellectual battle between William James Moriarty, who operates as a crime lord fighting against class inequality, and the great detective Sherlock Holmes. In the second cour, the fateful connection between William and Sherlock deepens, leading toward "The Final Problem." 24 episodes total (split-cour). Directed by Kazuya Nomura.
