A TV anime produced by Bridge, based on the manga by Hiroyuki Takei. Originally serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump (1998-2004), the series was re-released through Kodansha as a complete 35-volume edition starting in 2018. The series has surpassed 38 million copies in circulation (as of March 2021). Middle schooler Manta Oyamada encounters the mysterious boy Yoh Asakura, who converses with spirits in a cemetery. Yoh is a shaman who has come to Tokyo to participate in the "Shaman Fight," a battle held once every 500 years to determine the Shaman King. With the samurai spirit Amidamaru as his guardian ghost and training under his fiancée Anna Kyoyama, Yoh faces a fierce battle against his twin brother Hao. Unlike the 2001 adaptation, this remake fully adapts the manga through its original ending. 52 episodes. Directed by Joji Furuta. Music by Yuki Hayashi.
