The Case Study of Vanitas

A TV anime produced by BONES, based on the manga by Jun Mochizuki serialized in Square Enix's Monthly GFantasy JOKER, with over 5.5 million copies in circulation (as of 2021). Set in 19th-century France where steam engines thrive and vampires exist, the story follows Noé, a young vampire who boards an airship to Paris in search of the "Book of Vanitas." There, he encounters Vanitas, a human who claims to be a vampire specialist and declares he will use the Book's power to cure the curse that corrupts vampires' true names. Noé decides to travel with Vanitas to discern his true intentions. The first season spans 12 episodes. The main cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Vanitas, Kaito Ishikawa as Noé, and Inori Minase as Jeanne.
