Published in book form by KADOKAWA/Beam Comics. Over 2.2 million copies in circulation (as of 2023). Prince Bojji, firstborn of King Bossse who ranks 7th in the King Ranking, was born deaf and so weak he is scorned by retainers. His life changes dramatically when he meets Kage, a mysterious shadow-like creature. Through Queen Hiling's complex maternal love, rivalry with half-brother Daida, and the machinations of the enigmatic Miranjo, Bojji discovers his own unique strength. 23 episodes total, broadcast on Fuji TV's "noitaminA" block. Directed by Yosuke Hatta, with music by MAYUKO.
