The sixth TV anime series produced by TMS Entertainment, based on the manga "Lupin the Third" by Monkey Punch serialized in Futabasha's Manga Action, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the anime franchise since 1971. Spanning 25 episodes including EPISODE 0 (Nippon TV), the story is set in London where Lupin III targets a movie poster connected to treasure hidden by "Raven," a secret organization controlling the British government since World War II. Standing in Lupin's way is London's great detective Sherlock Holmes, who lives at 221B Baker Street with 14-year-old Lily Watson. The first cour features mystery-themed omnibus episodes penned by prestigious writers including Mamoru Oshii, Masaki Tsuji, and Minato Kanae. EPISODE 0 marks the final performance of Kiyoshi Kobayashi, who voiced Jigen since the 1971 original. Main cast includes Kanichi Kurita as Lupin, Akio Otsuka as Jigen, and Miyuki Sawashiro as Fujiko.
