A TV anime produced by Passione. Based on the doujin game by Ryukishi07. Initially announced as a remake of the 2006 anime (by Studio Deen), it was revealed during broadcast to be an entirely new story. Set in the village of Hinamizawa in 1983, the story centers on Keiichi Maebara, Rena Ryugu, Mion Sonozaki, Satoko Hojo, and Rika Furude as a chain of tragedies repeats. Within the time loops Rika endures, events diverge from the original in unexpected ways. A horror suspense depicting new aspects of Rika's century-long fight. 24 episodes. Directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi, music by Kenji Kawai. Main cast: Soichiro Hoshi as Keiichi, Mai Nakahara as Rena, Satsuki Yukino as Mion, Yukari Tamura as Rika, Mika Kanai as Satoko.
