Sarazanmai

A TV anime co-produced by MAPPA and Lapin Track. An original work by director Kunihiko Ikuhara (Revolutionary Girl Utena, Penguindrum). Set in Asakusa, Tokyo, three middle school boys—Kazuki Yasaka, Toi Kuji, and Enta Jinai—destroy a kappa statue and encounter Keppi, a mysterious being claiming to be heir to the Kappa Kingdom. Transformed into kappas, they must connect through "Sarazanmai" and steal the shirikodama from desire zombies to return to normal, but the ritual forces them to share their deepest secrets. Meanwhile, the mysterious police duo Reo Niiboshi and Mabu Akutsu scheme in the shadows. Aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina block from April to June 2019 for 11 episodes.
