A TV anime produced by SILVER LINK., based on the light novel by Tsuyoshi Yoshioka published by KADOKAWA's Famitsu Bunko, with illustrations by Seiji Kikuchi. Originally from "Shosetsuka ni Naro" (Let's Become a Novelist), with a manga adaptation by Shunsuke Ogata in Young Ace UP. The series has over 9 million copies in circulation (as of 2026). A young man who dies in modern Japan is reborn in a fantasy world and raised by the sage Merlin Wolford, named Shin. With memories of his past life and the sage's teachings, Shin develops extraordinary magical power but lacks common sense, enrolling in a magic academy. He befriends Prince August and Sizilien and fights against demonized enemies. Aired from April to June 2019 for 12 episodes. Cast includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Shin and Yusaku Yara as Merlin.
