A TV anime produced by Studio M2, based on Takao Saito's manga adaptation of Shotaro Ikenami's historical novel series "Onihei." The franchise boasts over 100 million copies sold. Set in late Edo period Japan, the series follows Heizo Hasegawa, chief of the Arson-Theft Investigations division, as he and his network of informants tackle heinous crimes across Edo. Once known as the wayward "Tetsu of Honjo," Heizo now dispenses justice with deep understanding of human nature's darkness and compassion.
