A theatrical anime produced by Science SARU. An original work by director Masaaki Yuasa. A musical fantasy where middle school boy Kai, living in the declining seaside town Hinashi, meets mermaid girl Lu. Music-loving Lu joins Kai band and interactions with townspeople begin, but the town deep-seated fear of mermaids stands in their way. Yuasa signature colorful and dynamic animation is stunning.
