A theatrical anime produced by Nippon Animation, based on the manga by Waki Yamato serialized in Kodansha Weekly Shonen Magazine, with over 12 million copies in series circulation. A romance set in the Taisho era depicting noblewoman Benio Hanamura living vigorously despite the turbulent times, centered on her arranged engagement with Army Lieutenant Shinobu Ijuin.
