GATE Season 2

GATE Season 2 is the second cour of the TV anime based on Takumi Yanai's light novel published by AlphaPolis, aired from January 2016. It continues the story of the Japan Self-Defense Forces dispatched to a fantasy world through a "Gate" that appeared in Tokyo's Ginza district. The second season features grander storylines including the fire dragon subjugation and political maneuvering with the Empire. The series is notable for its contrast between modern military power and a fantasy world, with realistic depictions of JSDF equipment and tactics. Produced by A-1 Pictures.
