The Morose Mononokean is a TV anime based on Kiri Wazawa's manga serialized on Square Enix's Gangan Online, aired from July 2016. This occult comedy follows Hanae Ashiya, a high school student possessed by a yokai, who ends up working for Haruitsuki Abeno, master of the yokai exorcism shop "Mononokean." The story depicts his growth while helping to send yokai back to the underworld. Produced by Pierrot Plus.
