Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma is a TV anime based on the manga with story by Yuto Tsukuda and art by Shun Saeki, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump with over 20 million copies in circulation. Aired from April 2015, it follows Soma Yukihira, the son of a small diner owner, who enrolls at the elite Totsuki Culinary Academy and grows through cooking battles called "Shokugeki."
