Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine is the second season of the TV anime based on Tsutomu Nihei's manga serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon, with over 2 million copies in circulation. Aired from April 2015, the sci-fi action continues the story of humanity living aboard the massive spaceship Sidonia and their battle against the mysterious life forms "Gauna." The second season features protagonist Nagate Tanikaze's interactions with the humanoid Gauna Tsumugi and large-scale Gauna battles. Produced as full 3DCG animation by Polygon Pictures.
