GATE

GATE is a TV anime based on Takumi Yanai's light novel published by AlphaPolis, aired from July 2015. When a "Gate" to another world suddenly appears in Tokyo's Ginza district, the Japan Self-Defense Forces are dispatched to the fantasy world. The story follows otaku JSDF officer Yoji Itami and his interactions with fantasy world girls including elf Tuka, mage Lelei, and demigoddess Rory, alongside battles against the Empire. The contrast between modern military power and a fantasy world is a highlight. Produced by A-1 Pictures.
