Young Black Jack is a TV anime based on the spinoff manga drawn by Yugo Okuma, with Osamu Tezuka's Black Jack as the original concept, serialized in Akita Shoten's Young Champion. Aired from October 2015, the series depicts the young days of Kuroo Hazama (Black Jack) as a medical student against the backdrop of 1960s student movements and security treaty protests. It solemnly portrays his awakening to genius surgical skills and his inner conflicts amid turbulent times. Produced by TMS Entertainment.
