M3: The Dark Metal is an original TV anime directed by Junichi Sato with series composition by Mari Okada, aired from April 2014. Produced by Satellight, this sci-fi dark fantasy follows eight youths who pilot robot weapons called "MA-Vesta" (Maves) to combat the "Lightless Realm," a domain of darkness that appeared in Tokyo. Amid the terror of anyone who touches the Lightless Realm turning into "Corpse" metal, the psychological conflicts and past traumas among the members form the story's core. 24 episodes.
