Akame ga Kill! is a TV anime based on the manga by Takahiro (story) and Tetsuya Tashiro (art), serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker magazine, with over 5 million copies in circulation. Aired from July 2014, produced by White Fox, this dark fantasy action follows boy Tatsumi who joins "Night Raid," an assassination group working to overthrow a corrupt empire, fighting alongside companions wielding super-weapons called "Imperial Arms." The series became a major talking point for its unforgiving plot where major characters die one after another. 24 episodes.
