Aldnoah.Zero is an original TV anime co-produced by A-1 Pictures and TROYCA, aired from July 2014. Directed by Ei Aoki with story concept by Gen Urobuchi, this near-future sci-fi mecha action depicts humanity who migrated to Mars acquiring the ancient technology "Aldnoah" and declaring war on Earth. Earth-side high schooler Inaho Kaizuka uses his calm analytical mind to stand against the overwhelmingly powerful Martian knights' Kataphrakts (robots). The series garnered attention for Hiroyuki Sawano's epic soundtrack and its shocking plot developments. 12 episodes (Season 1).
