Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] is a TV anime based on the "Rin route" of TYPE-MOON's visual novel, aired from October 2014. Produced by ufotable, the series depicts the "Holy Grail War" in Fuyuki City, where seven magi (Masters) and heroic spirits (Servants) battle over the omnipotent wish-granting "Holy Grail." It faithfully adapts the Unlimited Blade Works route where protagonist Shirou Emiya fights alongside Rin Tohsaka. The battle scenes rendered with ufotable's overwhelming visual quality were acclaimed both domestically and internationally. 13 episodes (1st season).
