Ronja, the Robber's Daughter is a TV anime based on Astrid Lindgren's children's novel, broadcast on NHK BS Premium from October 2014. Produced by Polygon Pictures and directed by Goro Miyazaki, the story follows Ronja, daughter of bandit chief Mattis, as she meets Birk, son of a rival bandit clan, and develops a friendship through adventures in the forest. Set against the grand nature of Sweden, the 3DCG animation's lush forest depictions are a highlight. A joint project between NHK and Studio Ghibli, marking Goro Miyazaki's first venture into CG animation. 26 episodes.
