Madoka Kaname, a middle school girl living in Mitakihara City, encounters the mysterious transfer student Homura Akemi and a strange creature called Kyubey, who offers her a contract to become a magical girl. The series depicts the harsh fate of girls who trade their wishes for magical powers to fight witches, told as a dark fantasy. Aired from January 2011 on MBS and other networks. 12 episodes total.
