A TV anime produced by SynergySP, based on the manga by Takuya Mitsuda serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday, with cumulative sales exceeding 66 million copies. This is the fifth season of the TV anime series. The story begins with Goro Shigeno returning to Japan after winning the championship with the Memphis Bats, his American Triple-A team. When the path to the Major Leagues seems closed, Goro sets his sights on a new goal: making the Japanese national team to compete in the World Cup. The series depicts Goro's challenges against the world's strongest players and the human drama woven through baseball. Directed by Toshinori Fukushima with series composition by Michihiro Tsuchiya.
