Real Drive

An original sci-fi anime co-created by Production I.G and Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell). Set in 2061, the story takes place in a world built around the "Meta Real Network" (Metal), an advanced cybernetic security system. Masamichi Haru, a former diver who spent 50 years in a coma, awakens in his 81-year-old body and resumes work as a "cyber diver," investigating incidents related to Metal on an artificial island. He is assisted by Minamo Aoi, a 15-year-old care android. The 26-episode series explores the boundary between the digital network and the physical world. Aired on Nippon Television.
