"Shikabane Hime: Aka" is a TV anime based on the manga by Yoshiichi Akahito, co-produced by GAINAX and feel. It aired from October to December 2008 for 13 episodes (sequel "Shikabane Hime: Kuro" aired January to March 2009, 12 episodes). The dead who cling to powerful regrets become "Shikabane" that attack the living. "Shikabane Hime" are deceased girls who form contracts with monks of the Kougon Sect to hunt these corpses. Protagonist Ouri encounters Shikabane Hime Makina Hoshimura and is drawn into fierce battles between life and death. A dark action fantasy series.
