Shinseikiden Mars

A TV anime produced by Plum and Studio Guts, based on the SF manga "Mars" by Mitsuteru Yokoyama serialized in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion. Spanning 13 episodes, a boy named Mars is discovered on a volcanic island with no memories, but is actually an emissary sent by the gods of the Milky Way to monitor Earth. Tasked with destroying the planet using six giant robots called the "Six Sacred Warriors" should humanity prove dangerous, Mars instead grows to appreciate human kindness and resolves to protect Earth. The stakes are absolute: if Mars is killed, the giant robot Gaia will detonate, destroying Earth along with him.
