Last Exile is an original TV anime produced by GONZO DIGIMATION as their 10th anniversary project. 26 episodes aired on TV Tokyo from April to September 2003. Set on the hourglass-shaped artificial planet Prestal, two nations Anatore and Disith wage war under the dominion of the Guild. Young vanship pilot Claus Valca and his navigator childhood friend Lavie Head work as sky couriers until they accept a mission to transport the mysterious girl Alvis Hamilton, becoming embroiled in a world-scale conflict aboard the aerial battleship Silvana. Directed by Koichi Chigira, the series earned acclaim for its detailed mechanical design and grand worldview. (C) 2003 GONZO / FlyingDog
