A TV anime produced by Arms, based on the manga by Lynn Okamoto serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump. Lucy, a female mutant known as a Diclonius who possesses horns and invisible telekinetic arms called Vectors, escapes from a research facility but suffers a gunshot wound to the head, losing her memories and developing an alternate personality called Nyu. She ends up living with college student Kouta at his boarding house. Despite featuring many attractive female characters, the series delves deeply into themes of extreme violence, child abuse, discrimination, and loneliness, creating a uniquely dark fantasy. Broadcast on AT-X for 13 episodes. The Latin choral opening theme LILIUM gained enormous international attention, and the series became a cult classic abroad before gaining widespread recognition in Japan.
